New America Flags for Young American

What would a flag for a new America look like? More specifically, a flag that represents fundamental ideologies that empower the collective consciousness of America to make positive change and progress… Equality, Unity, Access, Freedom, Commerce, Sanctuary, Security. The compositions on each of these three flags are based on a graphic language I developed, with each individual form representing one of these values. Each flag is one of a kind and is made up of archival pigment printed cotton twill, acrylic paint, hand-cut vinyl, thread, and grommets for display.

New America Flags were commissioned by Young American in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, where they are currently on display.
