Fall 2019 Paintings
I’ve always wanted my work to be in conversation with its audience, inviting the viewer to search for some familiarity with the forms and colors in each piece. Expanding on a series of works called Opportunities for Reflection (created for my solo presentation at Subliminal Projects entitled The Center), this body of work further explores the use of reflective materials in my paintings—specifically heat pressed foil. With the addition of a reflective surface, the viewer can now literally see themselves in the work, activating the paintings and allowing them to change based on the room they are hanging in and what’s in front of them. This collection of works also includes new Jazz Movement Study works on colored canvas.
Works available at Uprise Art in New York City, and Ada Advisor in Italy.
