Chicago Icons Mural - IDEO

Mural design for the Chicago office entryway of IDEO—a global design innovation company—inspired by their recent brand strategy for Divvy, Chicago’s bike sharing program.

Chicago and bike riding are two of my favorite things. The city’s unique collection of public art paired with world-class architecture (and the utter lack of hills) makes it a great place for exploring by bicycle. Following the lead of the minimal and colorful branding of Divvy, I created a group of symbols representing the city’s most iconic landmarks and compiled them to create an artwork totaling 22 linear feet. Serving as a treasure hunt of Chicago architecture and public art, the work creates a lively visual palate-cleanser while aligning with IDEO’s approach to building creative culture supported by thoughtful design.
